Section Chief of General Surgery

Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth are seeking an accomplished surgeon to lead our clinically robust and academically-focused Section of General Surgery.

In the Section Chief position, this individual will have primary responsibility for the clinical, education, and academic missions across Dartmouth Health and a large regional catchment area. As Section Chief, this physician will work closely with the Chair of Surgery to ensure continued growth within all general surgery subspecialties.

The Section is home to a longstanding ACGME-accredited residency as well as a research portfolio consisting of NIH-funded programs. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center has a strong academic environment providing the full spectrum of subspecialty clinical services, including a strong relationship with the Dartmouth Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will relish the opportunity to grow Dartmouth Health’s clinical and academic programs and will foster interdisciplinary inquiry and collaboration.

The individual will be an employee of the Dartmouth Health Clinic and will receive an academic appointment as a member of the faculty of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Candidates at the full professor level are encouraged.
