The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Postgraduate Residency Programs offer Advanced Practice Providers an intensive 12-month experience of advanced training comprised of didactic and clinical curriculums that will occur concomitantly.

Our Postgraduate Advanced Practice Residencies opportunities provide an opportunity to:

  • Gain valuable surgical experience as a first and second assistant in a variety of surgical procedures including open, endoscopic and robotic (Cardiothoracic and Otolaryngology only)
  • Develop critical and highly marketable operating, inpatient ICU/floor and outpatient clinic skills to care for patients longitudinally
  • Experience a variety and a high volume of critical procedures
  • Learn and work alongside colleagues in all areas of the medical field who are committed to team-based patient care, including D-H medical residents and Geisel medical students
  • Be part of an organization dedicated to training the next generation of health care providers
  • Access world class research and professors through Dartmouth College and Geisel School of Medicine
  • Earn a competitive annual stipend of $70,000, full and comprehensive benefits provided by Dartmouth-Hitchcock, and Category 1 CME is available for free by participating and attending lectures, conferences, grand rounds and journal club

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Master's Degree Physician Assistant Program
  • Eligible to pass (or have passed) the NCCPA certification (must have NCCPA certification by matriculation date)
  • Must obtain a Physician Assistant license in the state of New Hampshire once admitted to the program

  • Brief personal statement describing your interest in pursuing a career in Otolaryngology or Cardiothoracic Surgery (500-1,000 words)
  • Three letters of reference (if you are currently enrolled in a Physician Assistant Master's degree program, one must be from your Physician Assistant Program or Medical Director)
