The Department of Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a dynamic board certified/board eligible Pediatric Cardiologist to join its Section of Pediatric Cardiology. A founding member of the Northern New England Regional Program in Pediatric Cardiology, a collaborative with Boston Children's Hospital and the University of Vermont Children's Hospital, the Section provides comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents with cardiovascular conditions across the state of New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. It also houses a strong fetal program in conjunction with Obstetrics & Gynecology and a growing an adult congenital heart program as part of Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Heart & Vascular Center.
Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and teaching skills are expected. Pediatric cardiologists with a wide range of clinical interests, skills, and experience will be considered. Active participation in pediatric undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education is required, with appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine granted at a rank commensurate with experience. Academic opportunities across Dartmouth's campuses include world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement and healthcare delivery sciences at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
Care is delivered at CHaD's two major specialty hubs - Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), the region's 396-bed academic medical center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and D-H Manchester, a comprehensive ambulatory center in the state's largest city - which are linked through robust telehealth technologies. In addition to CHaD's level III NICU, PICU, and inpatient beds, DHMC hosts New Hampshire's only Level-1 trauma center, its only air ambulance service, and over 30 graduate medical education programs, including the core Pediatrics residency.
The successful candidate will be expected to practice at both locations but be based at DHMC in Lebanon, which is located in the Upper Connecticut River Valley, on the Vermont border. Cultural opportunities are enhanced by Dartmouth College, and the area is renowned for 4 season outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, cycling and water sports. This is an opportunity for an academic career in a setting where others vacation, easily accessible to the cities of Boston, Montreal, and New York. Quality of life for young families and local public schools are excellent.
