The Dartmouth Health-Cheshire Medical Center General Obstetrics and Gynecology team is seeking a BC/BE OB/GYN Generalist Physician to join our collaborative practice set here in the beautiful Lower Valley of New Hampshire. We are eager to recruit and retain talented physicians seeking a dynamic, inclusive, and innovative team here in Keene, NH.
Overview
- The team:
- 5 Generalist OBGYN physicians
- 6 CNMs
- 3 APRNs
- Average 425 deliveries per year
- 385 gynecologic surgeries annually
- Mix of outpatient, inpatient, and OR
- Full scope practice including high risk prenatal and postpartum care, GYN/Well Woman visits and preventative care, family planning and abortion services, gynecologic visits.
Gynecology
- Busy gynecological surgery service with opportunities for in office and OR based cases. Minor surgery room available.
- In-office availability of urogynecology specialty consultation. Gynecologic oncology consultation available within Dartmouth System.
- Availability of trained first assists for surgical cases, ability to operate with practice partners.
Obstetrics
- Works within collaborative care midwifery model for low-risk pregnancy. Collaborates and assumes responsibility for care, treatment, and delivery of high-risk pregnancy patients.
- Participates in risk based antenatal evaluation and treatment of the obstetrical patient. Collaborates with Maternal Fetal Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock for optimal pregnancy care.
- Midwifery model: Midwife stays with patients during labor for support and care management. Integrated volunteer doula program for labor support.
- Robust prenatal education with a prenatal nurse performing new OB intake and 28-week education visits
- Performs complicated operative and surgical deliveries. Manages obstetrical emergencies as they arise.
- Cares for post-surgical and operative delivery patients during postpartum period in the hospital.
Call
- Shared call within generalist OB/GYN group, 24-hour call shifts on weekdays, limited call day clinics for urgent visits, weekend call coverage.
- First call for ER and Gynecology, second call for Obstetrics with midwifes as primary call.
Clinic
- Balanced clinic schedule allows time for documentation within the workday.
- Availability of AI scribe technology for documentation
- Nursing triage available during the day for patient calls and inquiries.
- In-office Behavioral Health consultation available.
Connection to Academic Center
- Participation in Department Grand Rounds, CME presentations, and education and quality lectures.
- Policy and procedure development, review, and refinement within multidisciplinary working groups.
Teaching
- Responsible for the supervision and teaching of Family Medicine Residents.
- Responsible for the supervision and teaching of medical students on core OB/GYN rotation.
- Participation in the supervision and teaching of midwifery, nurse practitioner, nursing and otherc students.
Other Opportunities

Expectations
- Maintains timely and complete documentation of all care provided to patients.

- May direct activities of other workers within a collaborative team model across the Dartmouth Health System.
