The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide diagnostic evaluation and management of acute medical complaints for children and adults, presenting to the Emergency Department, or for patients being managed in ED observations protocols. Care for ED observation patients will be based on problem-specific evaluation and management protocols. Primary responsibilities for all patients include ordering diagnostic testing, obtaining consultations, performing simple procedures within the associate provider's scope of practice, prescribing medications, directing the administration of medications by nursing staff, and ensuring an appropriate disposition plan. Patients will be cared for in ED. Note that Physician Assistants provide all care under the oversight of their registered supervising physician.
