General Cardiologist
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist in the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Heart and Vascular Center. Join the academic practice of 40 cardiologists who are a well-established, dedicated and compassionate team of providers at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH, one of the nation's leading innovators in clinical care and national healthcare policy.
This is a full-time position at our academic center with responsibilities in both inpatient and outpatient care as well as noninvasive test interpretation for qualified candidates. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth commensurate with experience. Active engagement in clinical and/or outcomes research is strongly encouraged. A passion for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows is essential.

Qualifications
• Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
• Post graduate training in residency program
Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and related administrative services and actively participate in and contribute to DHC’s academic endeavors. • Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct. • Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s). • Determine appropriate diagnosis (diagnoses) and treatment plan(s). • Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies. • Obtain informed consent for treatment diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and studies. • Interpret and evaluate test and study results. • Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations. • Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary. • Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable. • Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries. Encourage behavioral change and assist with self-management skills to improve overall health, within specialty scope of practice. • Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner. • Provide patient and family-centered care. • Insure the patient’s right to privacy, confidentiality and informed consent. • Supervise APP’s as directed. • Participate in continuing medical education (CME). • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives. • Participate in academic responsibilities assigned by the Department Chair or designee, to include, but are not limited to: • Leading small group resident conferences • Training of Residents • Teaching medical and other health professional students • Participating in clinical trials or other sponsored research • Any other Geisel obligations (if any) • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Licensure/Certifications
• Current New Hampshire Medical License
• Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years) • Active hospital staff membership
