Dartmouth Health is pleased to announce an opening for an experienced Physician Assistant in the Section of Cardiac Surgery. The successful candidate will act as first assistant for Cardiac operations; including a full range of coronary, complex valve, aortic, and minimally invasive procedures. The candidate will be proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting and open vein harvesting.

Additional responsibilities include providing and coordinating care and education of patients and families prior to surgery, and while transitioning back to home including post-operative follow-up.  Work in the outpatient clinic setting provides opportunities to assist with the evaluation of elective, urgent, and emergent patients.

In addition, there are ample opportunities to be involved in research as well as clinical teaching in our PA Residency Program.  A faculty appointment through Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.

We are seeking providers who will:

  • Be team-oriented, multi-taskers with a great willingness to learn and hone their skills
  • Work rotating day shifts in the ICU/Floor/OR
  • OR call is 1:7 on nights, weekends and holidays; call is taken from home
  • Enjoy teaching and mentoring the next generation of Cardiac Surgery PAs through our Cardiothoracic Surgery PA residency
