Pediatric Infectious Disease Physician
Dartmouth Health Children’s and Geisel School of Medicine
The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children’s and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a full-time board certified/eligible Pediatric Infectious Disease physician. The successful candidate will provide pediatric infectious disease consultation as a member of the collaborative Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) Section of Infectious Diseases and International Health (IDIH). A wealth of opportunities exists for pursuing academic interests.
Dartmouth Health Children’s provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU, level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and level III NICU at its flagship Children’s Hospital at DHMC (CHaD). Dartmouth Health Children’s also operates a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in New Hampshire, and 10 pediatric primary care medical homes across the region. The Section of IDIH currently has research activities in the areas of epidemiology, global health, respiratory virology and mucosal immunity, HIV and TB. An NIH-funded Pediatric Clinical Trials Unit operates in a national consortium. There are multiple, highly collaborative Departments, Centers and formative Clusters across Geisel and Dartmouth’s other schools with strong infectious disease-related research programs in areas such as cystic fibrosis, lung biology, bioengineering, immunology/microbiology, and health services and clinical outcomes. A campus-wide Vaccine Initiative is in planning stages. Clinical service requires no more than 25-50% effort, leaving ample time for wide-ranging academic pursuits. Dedicated resources to continuing and expanding a funded, ongoing research program in vaccines and immunology will be available.
Teaching pediatric residents, infectious disease fellows, and medical students is required. Eligibility for appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with portfolio is expected.
